grace (n) God’s extravagant generosity
peace (n) the transcendent harmony of all things
New York is a great city and we want to see it thrive.
That begins locally—in living rooms and laundromats, on crosswalks and Subway platforms—with neighbors loving neighbors. This is harder to do than we’d like to admit, but if our starting point is grace—an extravagant gift we did not earn—then real peace is possible. Only the profound gift of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection can renew our whole being and transform our city into a place of peace for all.
Grace & Peace Church exists to both savor and share that gift with our neighbors in the 90s and 100s on the Upper West Side, a neighborhood often referred to as Manhattan Valley.
We are a gathering of neighbors helping their neighbors find belonging, meaning, purpose, and healing in Jesus of Nazareth.
Whether you are cynical, curious, confused, committed — or something else entirely — we hope you are surprised and refreshed by what you experience here.
